Robert “Bob” Scott, 60, of Rotonda West, formerly of Beachwood, N.J., died July 27.
Bob’s long time connection to Boca Grande was both personal and professional.
Many locals first met Bob at the Cape Haze Publix where his friendly personality, professional manner, and extensive product knowledge earned him the distinction of highest sales for the seafood department during his tenure.
He moonlighted as a bartender for many local functions with Love Bites Cakes and Catering for five years, until he assumed franchise ownership of LeeRoy Selmon’s Restaurant in Bradenton.
Bob spent his last year as manager of Ruby Tuesdays on University Drive in Sarasota.
Bob loved Boca Grande deeply, and spent every opportunity enjoying the beaches, the town, and the people here, for more than 20 years. For those who had the chance to know him, he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter, his mother, three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, two uncles, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Celebration of Life services will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, at South Beach Bar and Grill, 777 Gulf Blvd., Boca Grande.
Arrangements are being handled by the family, with a remembrance service to be held in New Jersey in the fall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics, which Bob supported for more than 15 years. Contact Special Olympics, 1133 19th St. NW #1200, Washington DC 20036.
