Representatives for Santa Claus have contacted the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce to confirm that the bearded one will appear at the annual Boca Grande “Christmas Walk on Saturday, Nov. 28.
The theme for this years’ event is “Favorite Memories of Christmas Past.”
Lynda Lancaster, the executive director of the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce, said that Boca Grande is a favorite stop for St. Nick.
“A spokesman for Santa stated that Gasparilla Island, with its quaint village, unique shops, fabulous restaurants and small town charm, is one of Santa’s favorite stops,” she said. “The big guy really loves to ride that fire engine and the children of Boca Grande have been especially nice this year.”
The village will be decorated for the season and the traditional luminary candles will light the way for people as they stroll the variety of businesses shopping and socializing.
Businesses decorating their storefronts will compete for “Best Display of Theme,” “Most Original” and the “Judges Award.” .
Christmas Walk festivities will run from 5 to 8 pm.
“It’s definitely going to be a ‘Grande’ Christmas for all,” Lancaster said.
