GIFT Tournament results

The team of anglers – Richard McCree and Capt. Brandon Naeve  won the 16th annual Gasparilla Island Fly-Fishing Tournament with a two redfish limit of 25 3/4 inches and 24 1/2 inches for a total length of 50 1/4 inches.

Second place was captured by the team of Capt. Pete Sanger and Capt. Cole Fairbanks who measured in a nice 21-inch redfish, while Bob Melvin and Ryan Gulick were awarded third place with their photo of a little redfish just under the slot limit. All redfish were released alive and healthy.

The annual fly fishing event is sponsored by Gasparilla Outfitters/Special Effects and the cocktail party/raffle is hosted each year by PJ’s SeaGrille. In keeping with the spirit of the event, all three winning teams donated their prize money back to support this year’s charity.

The 2009 event raised a total of $2,974.16 for the Gasparilla Island Maritime Museum.

Taste of Boca Grande 2010
