Chef Seth takes top honors in ACF Southeast Friday, 16 January 2015 16:21 BY JACK SHORT - Executive Chef Seth Shipley of the Gasparilla Inn & Club walked away from a major culinary competition recently with a sweet victory. Shipley was named “chef of the year” against three other competitors in the southeast region of the American Culinary Federation’s annual competition, held this year at the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta on January 10 and 11. Because of his victory, he will be able to compete in the national competition in Orlando in August. Read the Full Story

Friday, 16 January 2015 16:16 The Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce will host their second annual lobster bake on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Range Light Beach from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets ($75 each) are available at the Boca Beacon, from Kevin Hyde, Candy Brooks and at the Chamber office.  The event will be held at the Range Light Beach under a tent.
