Seven juveniles were charged by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for stealing golf carts, and one of them was charged with criminal mischief for smashing out a window at the Boca Grande Post Office.

According to reports on Wednesday, June 13 a deputy met with a Gasparilla Inn security guard who advised he heard loud voices arguing near 5th Street and Railroad Avenue. When the deputy approached that area he saw a golf cart heading northbound on the path. After asking the vehicle to stop the deputy saw a white male jump from the cart and begin running. To the Editor:

We are all so quick to complain and not realize the wonderful things we have in Boca Grande.

Yesterday I experienced firsthand just how great our fire department and EMS services are. We are very lucky to have people who care and give great service to us.

Let’s all see the greatness of Boca and it’s people and services.

To the Editor:

I was a traditional tarpon fishing guide in Boca Grande Pass for 26 years. In my prime I boated somewhere around 500 tarpon a year and on good years well over 600. In all those years I rarely caught a tarpon anywhere but in the mouth from the inside out with my Mustad 7690 5/0 J hooks. By rarely I mean once or twice a year. It was my belief and the belief of the master who taught me that those one or two fish had thrown the hook when they jumped and the hook landed somewhere else on the tarpon.
