Read more...The Boca Grande Art Alliance is preparing for the First Annual Memorial Day Weekend Art Show, displaying the talents of many of Gasparilla Island’s year-round residents.

The show will feature paintings, glass, jewelry and pottery by island artists, and will be held at the Art Alliance facilities at Park Ave. and Banyan Street.

BY LIZA STROUT - Between the excitement of bridges being built at the north end and tarpon fishing in the Pass, it is easy for some things to slip between the cracks here on Gasparilla Island. That has not happened with the seawall owned by the Florida Park Service along the Gulf of Mexico at the Boca Bay Pass Club, though.
