FWC break-away jig study refuted by originating scientist Friday, 17 May 2013 10:06 BY MARCY SHORTUSE - In the summer of 2004 Dr. Justin Grubich picked up the phone to take a call from a woman who said she was with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The woman, Kathy Guindon, talked with Justin for about 30 minutes foul-hooking tarpon, and he was asked to provide expert witness testimony on how tarpon feed. BY MARCY SHORTUSE - There’s more than one poor soul walking around out there who would love nothing more than to go out on a boat with a fishing pole, some bait and tackle and a cooler and just fish the day away. That same soul, though, may be held back by one thing: They has no clue how to fish. Lucky for them, that’s what fishing guides are for.

STAFF REPORT - Beginning in mid-January, the south bridge of the Boca Grande Causeway will be taken down to one lane of traffic. There are also 13 nights of construction slated as well.
