Letter to the Editor: GIMM board declares 2012 Back Bay Tournament and Chili Cook-off a raving success

To the editor:

On behalf of the Gasparilla Island Maritime Museum, we would like to thank those whose efforts made the Whidden’s Fall 2012 Memorial Back Bay Tournament and the Pirate Coast Chili Cook-off such a wonderful success.

Sisters Restaurant sponsored our Captains’ Party. Italiano Insurance and The Boca Beacon provided the tournament T-shirts, paper goods were donated by Betsy Joiner, and the goody buckets by the Barnichol.

All three winners of the tournament donated their cash winnings back to the museum, and we received cash donations from Howard and Emily Wise, Bernard Kerrison, and Rich Taylor of Gulf to Bay Properties, who sponsored a team entry fee.
