Clinic to host emergency panel discussion

On Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m., the Boca Grande Health Clinic and Foundation will host a panel discussion on emergency medical services and transportation at the Boca Grande Community Center auditorium. A question-and-answer period will follow.

The clinic’s medical director, Dr. Michael Steffan, will be joined by Boca Grande Fire Department’s Chief C.W. Blosser. Kim Dickerson, Chief of Lee County Emergency Medical Services, will also join in the discussion.

Through the discussion, the clinic hopes to keep Boca Grande informed of the services available on-island, as well as emergency transporting to area hospitals.

Patient rights and responsibilities, how DNR’s are handled and how to make the system work best for everyone will also be discussed.

There will also be light refreshments served following the event in the Woman’s Club room with a chance to meet the participants.
