Karoline Bellamy takes her first place prizes from Lee County librarian Toni Vanover.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Toni Vanover, the branch manager/senior librarian of the Boca Grande Reference Room and Library, announced the winners of the 2011 Bookmark Design Contest. This yearly contest sets a theme and invites all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to submit their own bookmark design to their respective Lee County library.

This year, 4th grader Karoline Bellamy won first place for her “come alive with books” design. In addition to her Fort Myers invitation, she also received a book store gift certificate, professional copies of her bookmark, and a “read” poster. Honorable mention went to last year’s winner, 4th grader Abby Turner. Both Karoline and Abby received an award certificate, flowers, and balloons. Everyone then enjoyed celebratory cake, pudding, and juice boxes.
