The Boca Bay resident has done battle with the feral, ring-tailed menace for weeks, but last week’s nocturnal maneuvers took the cake.
Lolo had contacted island trapper George Cera to handle a problem raccoon that was using her pool deck as a lavatory. George had been to the house several times and tried various methods to rid the residence of the night marauder.
Lolo had even purchased coyote urine, which she sprinkled around the edge of the deck to deter the creatures.
One day last week he introduced a new type of trap, one he created himself. Apparently, the raccoon was not fond of the trap.
When Lolo woke up the next morning she found that not only her personal raccoon, but all of his friends and relatives as well, had come to her pool deck in a mad debaucherous type of poo party.
To make matters worse, the raccoon beheaded her garden owl and threw the body in the pool. The head was located down by the lake, and is believed to have been taken by the animal as a trophy.
So far George has caught one cat, an opossum and two large raccoons on the property. Neither of them is believed to be the owl executioner.
“Yesterday when George redid the traps he put a sardine can out,” Lolo said. “That raccoon, another or the same, pulled the can right through the corner, so he could lick it without getting into the trap.”
Trapper Cera was brief in his description of the situation.
“He gave her the raccoon finger,” he said.
