
The Sea School will hold a captain's license course that at the Boca Grande Fire Dept. from Monday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 12, with the final exam on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The class will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The cost is: $550 for the Sea School, payable to Sea School; $80 for the final test, payable to Sea School; $25 for the traveling exam fee, payable to TET, Inc. (For test taken at remote test site); $75 for a drug test, payable to APCA Drug Consortium; $40 for a physical, payable to the doctor that comes to class (if the student has had a physical in the last year and they can get the doctor to fill out the forms, they can avoid this expense); $50 for plotting tools, depending on where they are purchased; $60 for CPR/First Aid, if taken at Sea School; $132.50 for a TWIC CARD, payable to the Transportation Safety Administration (this is a Transportation Workers Identification Card required by the Coast Guard of all licensed mariners); $145 for Coast Guard filing fees, payable to USCG.
