Letter to the Editor: A long wait for the Munchkins, all in vain

To the Editor:

My son is on the Munchkins waiting list. I've been hearing about this magical / miracle program being offered in our community for four years. Now his time has come up to attend the program and we are told it could be axed!

The concern, anger, and even fear shown at Monday's meeting only convinces me just how important it is for these programs to remain. We need options and diversity. Why are these programs being cut? We have the resources and environment on this island to create educational opportunities far superior to anywhere else in the world. Can we please be allowed to continue to make that happen?
