Letter to the Editor: Can’t we leave well enough alone?

To the Editor:

To the powers that be ... for the sake of our wonderful, loved and enjoyed (by all ages) community of Boca Grande, as well as, and most importantly, the children: Please do not run the young families and their children off the island.

Let’s not turn Boca Grande into a retirement community. Pretty soon the Bike Parade will be replaced with wheelchairs and gurneys.

It’s been said, “It takes a village to raise a child” and it’s true. But the follow-up to that should be that the elders of the village will someday need the young.

So why not leave well enough alone and let us all live in harmony? If it’s about cost ... consider it an investment in everyone’s future.
