Bike parade, Woman’s Club Fair on Saturday

Lots of red, white and blue will be found on the bike path this Saturday, March 17, for the annual Boca Grande Bike Parade, sponsored by Lee County Parks and Recreation.

The theme for both the bike parade and the fair to follow is “Grande Olde Flag.”

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at 5th Street and the bike path. All entrants are asked to line up at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the parade.

You can pre-register from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the 5th Street starting line. The fair begins at 11 a.m., following the parade, and is sponsored by the Boca Grande Woman’s Club.

Prizes will be given in many categories, including “best group,” “most original,” “best presentation of theme,” “best business” “most entertaining,” “most creative” and “best of show.” Four honorable mentions will also be given.

All entrants will be registered in one of four categories: Business/Commercial; Non-profit; Group; or Children’s categories.

The fair, sponsored by the Boca Grande Woman's Club, will begin following the parade. There will be children’s glames and food. It will be held on the grounds of the Boca Grande Community Center. For more information call 964-2564.
