Inn Marina receives ‘Clean’ designation from State of Florida

The Inn Marina at The Gasparilla Inn & Club announces its designation as a Florida Clean Marina, one of select marinas in the state qualifying for the Florida Clean Marina Program. To receive this designation, The Inn Marina proved its commitment to environmental stewardship by helping to reduce pollutants reaching Florida’s waterways.

“Our historic resort and full-service public marina attract guests who enjoy fishing, boating and exploring the barrier islands of southwest Florida,” said Jack Damioli, The Gasparilla Inn & Club’s president and general manager. “It’s our responsibility to do whatever we can to preserve this remarkable environment. Being part of the Florida Clean Marina program is an important part of this ongoing mission for our resort.”

With 1,350 miles of coastline, Florida has a $14 billion marine industry. The Florida Clean Marina Program, launched in 2000, is a proactive initiative to help preserve Florida’s waterways by addressing criticalenvironmental issues, such as sensitive habitat, waste management, storm-water control, spill prevention, and emergency preparedness.

The Inn Marina is located along the beautiful, protected waters of the Gulf Coast at the historic Gasparilla Inn & Club, located on Gasparilla Island. Guests of The Inn have long enjoyed recreational boating, as well as sport fishing for tarpon, snook, grouper, trout and many other fish in the island’s surrounding waters.
