Munchkins, after-school program provided by Friends seeking entrants for the 2012-2013 school year

The Friends of Boca Grande Community Center are currently accepting 2012-2013 school-year applications for the after-school program and the Munchkin program.

Anyone interested in signing their children up for the programs is encouraged to call the Friends office and speak with Angela Colosimo at 964-0827.

Angela has over 17 years of experience directing school-aged programs. The program offers organized recreational activities, arts and crafts, cooking projects and an assisted homework period for children ages 5 to 13.

Both programs are licensed by the state of Florida.  

The Munchkins Program is run by Laquata Meade, who has more than 30 years of pre-school and elementary teaching experience.

Laquata’s program encompasses language arts, math, science, and the development of fine and gross motor skills to prepare them for kindergarten. The concepts of sharing, teamwork, responsibility, organizational skills, and respect for others are also taught in her comprehensive curriculum.
