Postmaster Webb retiring

After 32 years of working with the United States Postal Service, Postmaster Linda Webb worked her last day behind the counter of the Boca Grande Post Office on Tuesday, July 31.

She came to Boca Grande in 2005, and has for the last seven years run the office in season and out.

Now that she is retired, Linda plans to spend more time on her hobbies, geneology and painting, as well as taking trips with her 12 grandchildren.

Linda hasn’t entirely left the Postal Service, though. She has been rehired as postmaster relief, on call to cover for any postmaster in the area.

Cherri Hobbs will be acting postmaster until a new permanent postmaster is selected, a process that began on Wednesday and is expected to take until October.
