Mila, surfing for autism and winning at the National Scholastic Surfing Association competition
Congratulations to Boca Grander Mila Wyman who placed second this past Sunday, Sept. 9 in National Scholastic Surfing Association’s (NSSA) first competition of the year in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. NSSA is the highest-profile amateur competitive surfing association in the United States. Six teams came from as far north as the Carolinas to take part in this division.

Mila is a junior at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. where this year she is the Surf Team president. She’s majoring in special education and is lucky to be able to combine her passions for surfing and special education by being an ambassador for the Surfers for Autism organization.

Your friends and family in Boca Grande wish you lots of luck in the upcoming competitions! Hope you continue to rack up the high scoring points and get to final competitions Hawaii!
