BY MARCY SHORTUSE - Gibbs Tolsdorf, the son of Boots and Dick Tolsdorf of Boca Grande, is currently entered in the Michelin Bike Contest to win a new, top-of-the-line racing bike. But it won’t be he who will be riding it.

According to Boots, Gibbs’ intention is to give the bike to an underprivileged rider who lives in their home county in Pennsylvania.

Every vote is crucial, and the family is asking for island help. The deadline for voting is September 30.

You can vote once every 24 hours, just go to pro4.michelinbicycle.com/contest/video/kMuHCbJdjGA/ and vote.

Gibbs went on his first bicycling “Exodus” Tour a year ago. He started in New York City, went through Syracuse, N.Y., then to Niagra Falls, and finished up in Los Angeles. He then traveled to Europe and spent time biking around Spain, Portugal and France. Where will he end up next? You can find out in his blog, watchgibbsgo.blogspot.com.

And don’t forget to vote!
