BY MARCY SHORTUSE - Carol Lindenbaum, a beloved island resident who was injured in a hiking accident several weeks ago, is doing well at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. She is speaking, she is smiling, and she is joking around through the pain of rehabilitative therapy.

Her family, including her husband, Dave, have been by her side as much as they can.

Progress has been a bit slow, but Carol’s goal is to be back in Boca by the end of October. Dave said that whether or not the doctors agree with that statement, that’s her plan.

According to the Lindenbaum family, “Carol lives on a steady diet of expressions of love, pride and adoration from her therapy team, nurses, CaringBridge guest posts, stacks of get-well cards and the family. Thank you.”

If you’d like to leave a message for Carol or Dave, go to caringbridge.org and type in “carollindenbaum in the “sites” field.

Carol was injured in a fall she took while hiking in Switzerland on August 16. She suffered a neck fracture, broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, a dislocated shoulder, a broken wrist and head wounds.
