Ice cream and fire trucks all the way ...

It was all about fire trucks and ice cream for island students lately.

Just before Halloween the Boca Grande Fire Department came by The Island School with their ladder truck to show the kids what each apparatus inside and outside the truck does ... and of course the kids loved it. Shown in the top photo Firefighter Patrick O’Connor shows off the truck to the kids. At right, the Boca Grande Child Care Center kids also had a day of fire safety knowledge. View More images >>

Bottom, the kids at the Friends of the Boca Grande Community Center After School Program got to mingle with Friends board members, volunteers and even their own parents at an ice cream social held last week by Friends.
