Season has begun, get ready to ink up those calendars!

Fishing, baked goods, art and theater are on the agenda for the upcoming days in Boca Grande.

The Relay for Life team from Hudson’s Grocery will hold a fundraiser bake sale on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held in the park next to the store, and is absolutely guaranteed to be tasty.

The Whidden’s Back Bay Tournament will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, with fishing beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m.

The tournament is held in memory of Barbara Chatham, Midge Calahan, John Bottjer, Mary Alice King, Capt. Joe Sturgess and Paula Johnson.

The entry fee is $350 per four-angler team, there will be cash and prizes, and Italiano Insurance and the Boca Beacon are sponsoring the team T-shirts.

The Captains/Rules Party will be held Saturday evening at Sisters Restaurant. The tournament awards party will be held at 4 p.m. on the afternoon of the tournament at the Pirate Coast Chili Cook-off. Attorney Michael Haymans will provide the featured music.

Everyone is invited. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.

“Tuesdays with Morrie” will be the first play for the Royal Palm Players 2012-13 season, and will be performed Friday through Sunday, Nov. 16,17 and 18 at 8 p.m. at the Crowninshield Community House.

Tickets are $25, call 964-2670 to purchase them or to get more information on the production or go to royalpalmplayers.com.

Singers are wanted for Royal Palm Players’ production of the hit musical “Godspell” to be presented Thursday, March 7 through Sunday, March 10. They are looking for soloists and chorus members.

Auditions will be held at St. Andrew’s Chapter House from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 18. Call RPP at 964-2670 for more information.

The annual Thanksgiving pottery show, “Mudder’s Hands,” will be held at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 17. Many items will be for sale to benefit church missions. Call 964-2386 or (941) 276-0012 for more information.

The Boca Grande Art Alliance will be hosting the Fall Art Show on Thursday, Nov. 15 through Sunday, Nov. 18. Their holiday gift show is scheduled to run from Tuesday, Nov. 20 through Monday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Call 964-1700 for more information.

On Monday, Nov. 19 the Friends of the Boca Grande Community Center will be holding a second showing of National Theatre Live’s “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime” at the Boca Grande Community Center Auditorium, at 7 p.m.

The cost is $20 per person.

Don’t forget, the 19th annual GIFT Tournament will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Proceeds this year go to the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce.

A pre-tournament captains’ meeting and raffle will be open to the public and held on Monday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. upstairs at PJ’s Seagrille. The cost is $35 and there will be an open bar. Call Gasparilla Outfitters at 964-0907 for more information.
