According to the sheriff’s office report, the victim said she parked her rental car in the 200 block of Harbor Drive with the windows down and doors unlocked at approximately 12:45 p.m. that day. After several hours of looking for her iPhone and $500 sunglasses, she told deputies that she finally determined she had left them in the car. When she went to look for them there, they were gone.
Deputies are also investigating reports of graffiti island-wide. On Saturday, Nov. 24 deputies met with an island resident who reported graffiti to her property.
According to reports, the complainant said that her landscaping service contacted her when they found the vandalism on the front wall of the property. Upon investigation, the deputy found additional graffiti on the property’s rear gate as well.
More graffiti was reported at Hudson’s Grocery (above) and several other island locations.
Anyone with information can contact the island’s substation at 964-2400, or the Lee County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number, (239) 477-1000.
