A mystery cart, a broken wall

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 300 block of Gulf Boulevard on Wednesday, Dec. 26, after someone complained of a mystery golf cart running into a wall.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. deputies met with a woman who claimed she had observed a green golf cart facing toward a four-foot concrete block wall that surrounded the perimeter of her condominium property.

According to reports, the woman told deputies that she observed some of the wall had been knocked over and was broken into several pieces.

Deputies wrote in the report that when they took a closer look at the cart they found a small piece of concrete stuck to the front bumper area of the cart. No other damage was noticed.

Deputies determined that the cart belongs to Thoroughbred Golf Carts, but that company said they had no reports of stolen carts.

According to reports, the estimated property damage was approximately $500.
