It features gourmet appetizers, wine and a fun-filled evening that offers attendees a chance to win an original piece of art from more than 60 works by local artists.

The 2013 Whodunit? will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Crowninshield House. Art can be previewed on the day of the event from 2 to 4 p.m.

Master of ceremonies will be Del-Bourree Bach, a master painter and renowned marine artist. Bach is known for his lively banter and ability to entertain an audience.

“This is a terrific event. Everyone had a great time in 2011 and some lucky attendees walked away with beautiful pieces of art,” says Cathy Parkes, president of the BGAA. “Boca Grande benefits from the presence of so many wonderful artisans and painters. We hope people will attend and support the visual arts in this beautiful community.”

The artwork will be the star of the show, with exhibiting artists, art instructors and other professional local artists donating more than 60 works for the event. Pieces will be signed on the back so attendees will not know who did the work until it is selected.

Tickets will be collected at the door, and every few minutes a new name will be drawn. Those individuals will then have 30 seconds to select their painting of choice and learn Whodunit?

Tickets are $75 and are available at the Art Alliance at 236 Banyan Street or by calling 964-1700.
