Kids at the Boca Grande Child Care Center spent some time this week making valentines for veterans at the Bay Pines V.A. Outpatient Clinic in Port Charlotte. According to teacher Heidi Cahill, this is something they had contemplated since last year.

“I heard something on the news about how they were doing valentines for soldiers,” she said. “For some reason, valentines for veterans got stuck in my head. So not only did we make the valentines, but we taught the kids about what a veteran is, what they have done for our country, and that they can be men, women, even dogs.”

The children’s beautiful valentine cards were taken to the Bay Pines clinic on Thursday and distributed. View More images >>
