The artwork for The 2013 Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament has been revealed. It’s “Reel Women of Boca Grande” by Kelly Reark-Borza.
Kelly has been drawing and painting Florida wildlife for over twenty years and is back at it again expressing her vision with the Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament for it’s 23rd year. Her “Keepin’ it Reel” theme fits right in with the date of the tournament having been moved back to Saturday, May 11 – the traditional Mother’s Day weekend.
Kelly has skillfully painted in rich sepia tones her image of a “Reel Woman” catching a tarpon. The $20 limited edition and signed posters are available for purchase at the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust.
Kelly also painted the logo again this year for the tournament from her art piece “Boca Grande Lady.” Exclusive Tervis Tumblers with the Ladies Day art will be available in the near future, courtesy of Platinum Sponsors, Sisters Restaurant. Kelly’s logo and artwork will be on t-shirts available at the Boca Grande Area Chamber office in the month of April. You can see Kelly’s art on the Ladies Day Tournament Facebook page and on kellyreark.com.
Kelly will also be featured on the WENG radio show, “All About Women”on 107.5 FM and 1530 AM. Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. to learn more about the catch and release tournament, "reel" women and "reel" art.
