This year Wells Fargo Bank, Rotonda, as part of its support of non-profits that work with children, has donated a 2012 limited edition legendary pony to Kids’ Needs of Greater Englewood. “Mack” is new, with original tags, and promises to become a collector’s item.
Each year Wells Fargo Bank celebrates a horse from its past that represents the contribution horses have made to the company’s success, then branches select a worthwhile local charity to receive the gift of a 50-inch plush version of that horse.
Kids’ Needs will raffle Mack off this month with all proceeds to benefit local children who need help with school clothes and shoes, school supplies, toiletries and to support the local “weekend backpack” food program. Raffle tickets will be available at the Englewood Rotary Art Festival at the Kids’ Needs booth on Dearborn Street in Olde Englewood, Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24.
Over half the children in local schools need a helping hand and Kids' Needs is working to provide basic necessities in the hope of keeping children safe and in school. You can help by donating school clothing and shoes for boys and girls in grades K-12. They also need underwear, socks, toiletries and school supplies. Donations may be dropped off at donation boxes located throughout Englewood (the YMCA, Quality Self Storage, 3041 S. McCall Rd.), and in Boca Grande at the Key Agency 428 4th St. W.
Tax-deductible monetary donations may be mailed to Kids' Needs, 1201 S. McCall Rd., Englewood, FL 34223. For more information, visit the website, kidsneedsenglewood.org.
