Useppa specialist joins Michael Saunders team

Michael Saunders & Company is pleased to welcome Brian McColgan to the Boca Grande office.

A longtime real estate professional, Brian, who holds the MAI designation, brings an extensive commercial background specializing in appraisal review, litigation counseling and expert witness testimony, as well as conducting hearings as a Special Magistrate on commercial real estate and high-end residential waterfront properties.

After founding McColgan & Company, Inc. in 1980, Brian expanded his real estate appraisal firm to become the largest privately owned, commercial-only appraisal company in the southeast United States. During this term, he managed and operated offices in Atlanta as well as the Tampa and Fort Myers market areas. The role of his company included assignments in approximately 30 states and encompassed

almost every aspect of commercial real estate. Brian sold his business in late 2006, and continues to provide appraisal review and counseling services for the company’s Florida assignments.

Raised in an army family, Brian graduated from high school at Calvert Hall College in Towson, Maryland, before earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami. Brian discovered and made his home on Useppa Island in 1985. From the Boca Grande office, he specializes in Useppa residential properties.
