Civil War battles, time capsules and hard tack teas will be featured during Boca Grande’s centennial week, which begins April 22.
“Civil War Reflections” is a week-long opportunity to learn, explore, and experience Civil War history from people who are passionate about telling the stories using oral histories, historical letters, research, literature, photography, movies, music, theatre, art, and poetry.
The program will feature well-known lecturers and best-selling authors, as well as some of our own Boca Grande talent.
There will also be a consortium of Civil War re-enactors living on the Community Center grounds for the weekend, who will be living as they would have during the time of the Civil War, including doing all their cooking and daily life out of doors.
