Some architectural issues have arisen at the Johann Fust Community Library, delaying their anticipated opening date of June 10. Not to worry, though, with a little luck the newly-renovated facility should be open in days.
“Some unexpected delays have occurred,” said librarian Toni Vanover. “We sincerely apologize for the delay. We are just as anxious as everyone else to open up for library service.”
Staff worked tirelessly in the last few weeks to get everything on the shelves at the Fust, which has just combined forces with the Lee County Reference Room from the Boca Grande Community Center.
Wireless service is up, computers are ready, books are on shelves ... there are just a few minor details to clear up first.
All library cards issued at the Lee County Reference Room can be used at the Johann Fust Community Library. All policies and procedures are the same as well.
The anticipated day of opening will be announced on bocabeacon.com and on our Facebook page if the information is received prior to our next newspaper edition.
