They’re coming to get you, Barbara. Dogs, that is, and they’re not actually coming to get anyone. Just treats. But it is a Halloween party (or paw-ty as the case may be), so a quote from Night of the Living Dead isn’t totally out of line.
What’s more, the Woof Gang Howl ‘oween Pet Parade and Paw-ty to be held Sunday, Oct. 27, may be a strange spectacle – though decidedly lighter in tone than zombies coming back to life.
Jane Moyer, who purchased Woof Gang Bakery & Pet Boutique in January, said she wants to make this an annual event. It’s a free celebration, but she said she appreciate donations, all of which will go towards Tank and Blanche Boudreau’s foster dogs at the Loose Caboose.
“I wanted to keep the charity close to home,” Moyer said.
There will be wine, cheese, chips and soda for the two-legged types, treats for the dogs.
Everyone should assemble in costume on the porch at 2:45 p.m. The parade will continue on around the block and return to the shop by 3:30 p.m. for a costume contest.
The grand prize will be a gift certificate to the bakery, and runner ups will get treats. Categories are cutest, scariest and most original.
Moyer said she also needs three judges who can remain impartial in the face of so much overwhelming cuteness.
If you think you can hack it, or just want more information about the event, call 964-WOOF (9663).
