Tickets for the Taste of Boca Grande are now on sale. Coordinators are looking at 17 restaurants committed to the event. The Steve Chapin Band will also play.
The event will be held under a tent, so no weather worries. The event is Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $85 ($50 is tax deductible), and can be purchased at the Boca Beacon office, The Boca Grande Club office, The Boca Bay Pass Club, BRC Group Realty (333 Park Avenue and 6020 Boca Grande Causeway), Thor Johnson at 964-0697, Nick Kaiser at 964-0141 and through Kathy Hawken, 964-1399.
The annual lighting of the Boca Grande Christmas tree will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m.
This year, JeJe Pierce, past Woman’s Club president and longtime civic leader, will have the honor of lighting the tree.
Brother Beatty, Father Carosella and Mother Michelle Robertshaw will read scripture and the community will sing traditional Christmas carols.
Home-baked cookies and punch will be served.

The annual Lighting of the Lighthouse at the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. This favorite island event showcases the historic structure, adorned with thousands of dazzling lights that are scheduled to be lit at 6:15 p.m.
