Governor Rick Scott has declared Saturday, April 20, 2013, to be Florida Lighthouse Day. The Historic Port Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum will be celebrating the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with arts, crafts and activities for kids, gifts, cake and drinks for everyone.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has reported two incidents of “smash-and-grab” type thefts that occurred in Boca Grande on Monday, April 15.
