The Boca Grande Child Care Center will be celebrating Earth Day by enjoying the fruits of the Recycling Project that the children started three years ago.
BY JACK SHORT - John Kissinger spends more than half of the year in Boca Grande enjoying retirement with his wife, Lona, though both of them seem to have redefined “retirement,” staying active and busy beyond the occasional game of tennis and golf. Those are on the table, but John said the real fun stuff is economics and business. He serves on several local boards and committees in those areas.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), at its April 17 meeting near Tallahassee, moved forward unanimously with a proposal to make tarpon and bonefish catch-and-release-only fisheries.
Within the last week, people impersonating repairmen have attempted to gain entrance to at least one home in Boca Grande.
A new committee. Two plans. A lot of discussion. Much was discussed at the April meeting of the Boca Grande Historic Preservation in reference to Gilchrist Avenue parking, culminating in a decision to have one of the board members spearhead a committee of a chosen few to make a final decision pertaining to parking on the median.
