Former Beacon writer raising funds for life-changing treatment

BY LIZA STROUT - When former Beacon writer Tim Gielau earned his state private investigator’s license a little more than five years ago, he was ready to embark on a new adventure.
Five days after getting that license, on a Friday afternoon, he laid down to take a nap. When he woke up, it was a week later and he was in the hospital. The 51-year-old had suffered a stroke.
