The annual lighting of the Boca Grande Christmas tree will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m.
This year, JeJe Pierce, past Woman’s Club president and longtime civic leader, will have the honor of lighting the tree.
Brother Beatty, Father Carosella and Mother Michelle Robertshaw will read scripture and the community will sing traditional Christmas carols.
Home-baked cookies and punch will be served.

The annual Lighting of the Lighthouse at the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. This favorite island event showcases the historic structure, adorned with thousands of dazzling lights that are scheduled to be lit at 6:15 p.m.
BY MARCY SHORTUSE - On the morning of November 30, a long line is guaranteed to be snaking around the Boca Bargains building at Banyan Street and Park Avenue. That’s because Saturday is the shop’s opening day for season, and the bargains are always plentiful and unique.
Friends of the Boca Grande Community Center will be featuring a National Theater Live production, a road trip to Sarasota and an Apple workshop, all in the first week of December.
