To the Editor:
The Boca Grande Community Center was the place to be last Saturday. The Halloween Carnival put on by the Friends of Boca Grande and Lee County Parks & Recreation took place on the Community Center grounds for all to have a spooktacular time. The Carnival started out with an exciting costume contest where 135 children paraded in some great costumes.
Ribbons were given to every child who participated.
After the costume contest everyone played homemade Halloween games, ate food from the Black Cat Café, and tried their luck in the cake walk. All who participated in this annual event seemed to have a great time.
On behalf of the Friends of Boca Grande and Lee County Parks & Recreation Department, we would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped out with this event. Without your help and support, it would be impossible to run and organize an event of this size. The candy and cake donators also deserve a big thank you for taking the time to make sure we had enough candy to pass out and cakes for the cake walk. The teens of Boca Grande also did a fabulous job decorating and helping out with the games. The Boca Grande firefighters also deserve a big thank you for cooking all of the food for the event.
