The Adult Respite Group had a great time this week! They were treated to an “Old Boca Grande Fish Fry” luncheon served in the Woman’s Club room.
Fresh mackerel was fried and served with hush puppies, cole slaw, baked beans and a delicious dessert. Every bite was enjoyed by all!
Our thanks to Capt. Lamar Joiner Sr., Mark Shevitski and a helper who caught, cleaned and fried the fish for us. The yummy sides were supplied by our great volunteers.
We also shared stories of the days when a fried mullet fish fry was a regular event, held several times a year at the Boca Grande School.
What a treat! Thanks to all who participated!
