The Boca Grande Child Care Center “Kids in Kandyland” dinner and auction was once again a terrific success. Our thanks to the many, many people who lent their efforts to making the evening such a memorable one.
The dining room was exquisitely decorated by Jeanie Stevenson, with help from Martha Diebold, to perfectly reflect the theme “Kids in Kandyland.” Our co-auctioneers, John Hillenbrand and Bayne Stevenson, kept the merriment alive and the bidding strong. Our heartfelt thanks to each of them for their efforts on our behalf.
We give thanks also to the Boca Grande Club for generously hosting the event – to Becki Kemmer and her staff for working tirelessly to make everything perfect – and to Chef Greg Foos for a delicious dinner.
Without our amazing staff of teachers, the Child Care Center would not be what it is today. Thank you to the director, Kimi Harms and her teachers, Heidi Cahill, Wendy Kelly, Breon Daugherty and Holly Woods, who oversaw the silent and live auctions and helped in every way.
For all those generous people who contributed to the silent auction, we thank you. It was a huge success. To the generous providers of our live auction items, Carol and Jerry Miller, the Prairie Edge Studio in Rapid City S.D., Joan and John Hillenbrand, Julie O’Donnell, George Castrucci, Lou Fusz, Ben Scott, Fr. Jerome Carosella, Debbie and Ted Lilly, Ginny and Peter Nicholas another huge thank you.
The Child Care Center is indispensable to our Island. Parents can be working nearby knowing their children are in a loving environment and learning from certified teachers. It runs 12 months a year from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.
Thank you one and all,
Mikey Baer, Shelley Barr,
Joan Hillenbrand, Pat Jeffs,
Genie Lyman and Angela Steffan
