Letter to the Editor: Gilchrist parking ... the time to act is now

Subject: Gilchrist

The Boca Grande Historical Preservation Board at the March 13 meeting stated it was responsible for correcting the Gilchrist parking problem. That said, now we have a board in place to listen to, to digest ideas, and to eventually correct the problem.

I would suggest a sub-board/committee be formed of interested parties. Residents of Gilchrist, GICIA, the sheriff's department, Lee County government, the Gasparilla Inn, and perhaps the clergy of Gilchrist churches.

This sub-board/committee would do all the “leg” work and report to the BGHPB. I’d be happy to help!

We need to get focused and to pull in ideas and get results. Enough hot air!
