“Art In Bloom” was a tremendous success in many ways. Partnering with the Boca Grande Garden Club added a new and fresh dimension for the show. The Art Alliance wishes to thank the designers and all garden club members who provided hors d’oeuvres and support in many other ways. We want to make this an annual event.

It’s that time of year again. Your local American Cancer Society Relay for Life is coming up soon. Saturday, April 27 your local businesses will set up at the Ball Park at the end of Wheeler Street and walk through the night to fight cancer. There will be food and activities through the night. It’s a carnival-like atmosphere for most of the day and evening except just after sunset during the luminaria walk.

It was windy and chilly in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 6. Nevertheless, many dedicated volunteers showed up for an assignment. Wearing jackets or sweaters, they signed up to help keep Boca Grande tidy and beautiful. Each person was assigned a segment of the island and, with their bags and pick up devices in hand, marched off to do their work.
