The Adult Respite Group had a great time this week! They were treated to an “Old Boca Grande Fish Fry” luncheon served in the Woman’s Club room.  

Fresh mackerel was fried and served with hush puppies, cole slaw, baked beans and a delicious dessert. Every bite was enjoyed by all!

“Warn when passing” is now prominently stenciled on the GICIA’s Bike Path at crucial intervals, approximately every 200 yards. The project was completed on Saturday, Sept. 22, the work of Liam Hugger of Boca Grande (he is the grandson of Rick and Karen Hugger). Liam was assisted by volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 198 of Rotonda.

Letters to the Editor: Island resident speaks out on bridge vote

 

To the Editor:

I am writing as an individual island resident and not in my capacity as a member of the board of the Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority. As I am sure everyone knows, there will be an item on the November 6 ballot concerning a proposed real estate tax levy to partially pay for the bridge replacements. There are a couple of matters that seem to need clarification.
