Obituary: Margaret Twomey Jones

 

Read more...Margaret (“Peggy”) Twomey Jones, of Boca Grande and Chatham, Mass., passed away on July 7, 2012 of cancer at her home in Chatham, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, W. Richard (Dick) Jones; her children, Jane Elizabeth Jones (Stan Cygelman) of Winchester, Mass., Susan Patricia Jones of East Harwich, Mass., and Richard Jones (Anne) of Louisville, Ky.; her grandchildren, Kate, Alex and Charlie Rush, Jackie Cygelman, and Rye and Henry Jones; her sisters, Joan Ivers (Jack) of Chappaqua, N.Y., Eileen Twomey of Chatham, Mass.; and her brother, Michael Twomey (Maria) of Boise, Idaho; as well as four nieces, two nephews and numerous cousins.

Obituary: Elizabeth C. Betsy Biddle

 

Elizabeth C. Betsy Biddle, 83, of Ligonier, Pa. and Boca Grande, passed away late Saturday evening, June 23, 2012 at her Ligonier residence.

She was born October 3, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter of the late William and Marion Clapp Collin. Betsy was a member of St. Michael's of the Valley Church in Rector, the Rolling Rock Club, and the Gasparilla Beach Club and St. Andrews Episcopal Church, both in Boca Grande.

She was well known as a faithful and caring volunteer for the Latrobe Area Hospital.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Livingston L. Toby Biddle in 2009; one brother and three sisters.

Betsy is survived by three children; Page (Joel) Cook of Carbondale, Colo., Nick Biddle of Greensburg, and Collin (Ann) Biddle of Brooklyn, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Adams of Kennebunkport, ME.

Memorial contributions may be made in Betsy’s memory to St. Michael's of the Valley, P.O. Box 336, Ligonier, PA 15658.

Percival Porcher Gregg, Jr.

 

Read more...Percival Porcher Gregg, Jr. (Shay) died on June 16, 2012 after a short illness. Born on September 28, 1916 in Florence County, S.C., he grew up at the Ashby place, which is now known as Quinby.

The son of Percival Porcher Gregg and Constance Ashby Gregg, he graduated from Florence High School in 1934 and worked for the Home Owners Loan Corporation in Washington, D.C. before attending North Carolina State University.

Dany Magill

 

Read more...Daniel Patrick (Dany) Magill, 56, of Englewood passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

Dany was born on February 4, 1956 in Berwyn, Illinois but spent most of his childhood on Siesta Key in Sarasota. Dany Magill was always his own man. He got his first job at age 13 and never looked back. In spite of partial paralysis, he continued to work until his retirement three years ago. Dany was an entrepreneur from the beginning.
