Stanley Aaronson Friedman, husband, gentleman, and scholar died on October 27, 2011 at his home in Lacey, Wash. surrounded by his wife, Sydell, and daughters, Rachel Friedman of Olympia, Wash., Suzi Ambar-Worrell of Nashville, Tenn. and Carol Thaler, of Tucson, Ariz. He was 91.

Celebration of life for Sandi Thomson scheduled

A celebration of the life of Sandi Thomson will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11:15 a.m. at the Boca Grande United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. It will be held following regular church services.

Obituary: George Landis Arehart

Born in Norborne, Mo., he moved to Florida in 1968 from Shawnee Mission. He was a Navy fighter pilot instructor in Pensacola during WWII. During his 50 years of sobriety he established, in Kansas and Florida, many chapters of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he was lovingly known as “Johnny.”
