Capt. Kevin Kelley had his very first fishing day in a long, long time recently. After being diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy about 3 1/2 months ago, he was more than happy to accompany his clients, Chris and Karen Beeman (guests of island resident Carl Palmer).

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is waiving their fishing license requirement for all recreational anglers. Residents and non-residents must still adhere to all other rules (e.g. season, bag and size limits), according to the FWC website.
