Island time: Out of this world with Jeff Rodgers

 

Last week the kids at The Island School got a special treat – a visit from Jeff Rodgers, an astronomer with Bishop Planetarium. He and Samantha Sprague, school programs manager for Bishop, spoke with the kids about how the solar system works and what they see in the night sky. Rodgers came to the island courtesy of the Friends of the Boca Grande Community Center.

GIBA board decides 4-1 to accept GLF as swing bridge builders

 

Read more...The Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority has determined that GLF will be retained to build the island’s new swing bridge, after their original bid was rejected.
