BY LIZA STROUT - The Barrier Island Parks Society is one step closer to acquiring the Range Light. At their monthly meeting on March 11 a large focus was placed on recent progress in the ongoing efforts to acquire the landmark.
Island families and organizations are busy, busy, busy getting ready for the 2013 bike parade to be held this Saturday, March 16, along the bike path in Boca Grande.
As part of its annual spring show, the Boca Grande Art Alliance – in partnership with the Boca Grande Garden Club – will present a new exhibit of visual and floral artistic collaboration called “Art in Bloom.”
The rabbit of the hour, a.k.a. E. Aster Bunnymund, needs some help from the Boca Grande Community. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the pitter patter of the Easter Bunny’s paws. Easter is getting closer, and the folks at the Boca Grande Community Center need your candy.
The Barrier Island Parks Society’s third annual “Cookout in Paradise” will be held on Monday, March 18 at the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum compound, and everyone is invited.
Sean and Brooks Paxton, a.k.a. the Shark Brothers, will share their stories of adventure and exploration in the wild with students at the Island School during an exciting educational presentation entitled “Wild by Nature” on Thursday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
