The award was presented by Mike Pearson, President and CEO of Orion Marine Group.


Accident beheads palm

 

Around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 this poor palm tree had a traumatic run-in with a Gulf to Bay truck. The tree, which stands at 3rd St. and Gilchrist Avenue., will never be the same after its decapitation.

“Warn when passing” is now prominently stenciled on the GICIA’s Bike Path at crucial intervals, approximately every 200 yards. The project was completed on Saturday, Sept. 22, the work of Liam Hugger of Boca Grande (he is the grandson of Rick and Karen Hugger). Liam was assisted by volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 198 of Rotonda.
